In Adoration you might…
  • Find it difficult to hear Jesus, but remember, Elijah heard the Lord not in the wind or fire, but only in the gentle whisper.
  • Fall asleep, but remember, the disciples fell asleep while praying in the garden with Jesus; he forgave them & asked them to pray with Him again.
  • Find yourself distracted, but when you do just simply say, “I will return to my prayer now.”
  • Find yourself bored, don’t worry. Gaze on the Host, realize that Jesus is present, waiting to listen to you. Try saying an act of Spiritual Communion:

“My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.”
