confirmation

“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit" Acts 2:4
Confirmation unites us more firmly to Christ. It strengthens our relationship with the Church, and gives us a special strength from the Holy Spirit to defend the faith and confess the name of Christ.

Through our Parish Religious Education (PRE) classes at Saint Ann Church and our Saint Ann School catechists, children are lead along this engaging and innovative journey of Confirmation Preparation for two years.

CONFIRMATION 2022-2023 UPDATE:
CONFIRMATION RETREAT will be on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, afterschool and evening.
CONFIRMATION will be celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 7:00 pm.

Confirmation I (generally 7th Grade) students are steered by Decision Point by Dynamic Catholic (Matthew Kelly) as they navigate through what it means to embrace our Catholic Faith as their own.

Confirmation II (generally 8th Grade) students follow Chosen by Ascension Press which proclaims to our confirmation candidates that this Sacrament, and indeed our faith, are not about information intake, but about encountering Jesus. Chosen invites our young people to encounter Christ through the Church, the Scripture, the Mass, the Sacraments...and one another. In the fall, students will focus on preparing for the sacrament itself.  During the spring semester the focus will be on living the faith and taking on more responsibility as "adults" in the church.

Both Confirmation I and Confirmation II students are expected to engage in service events. The main goal of this preparation is to help each child grow in holiness and foster within each child a culture of service.

Our service approach changed last year due to Covid-19 restrictions, however, we have found that these changes have proved beneficial.  The requirements for service for all confirmation students are as follows:
  • Each month candidates will complete two (2) encounters, one based on the Spiritual Works of Mercy and one based on the Corporal Works of Mercy.
  • Once complete, students fill out the "Service Reflection" form online to submit monthly service information.
  • Online forms are due by the 5th of the following month.

All Baptismal and First Eucharist Certificates are due at the beginning of the academic year.

Any student who was baptized at Saint Ann or received First Eucharist at Saint Ann, please complete the form below, so we may look up the information.

Those Baptized and/or receiving First Eucharist at another parish need to have their certificates mailed from that church to the Saint Ann Parish Office addressed to Kathy Schober.
